I was to upload a video for Jenny at Stupid Stork‘s Vlog Challenge yesterday, but I was travelling all day. I’m late, but better late than never. Said someone. Things got off to a shaky start this morning. (Read redundant.) I was nervous. Also, I apologize for the sniffling. All one needs to do is watch a video of themselves to understand why they should blow their noses more often when dealing with a cold. Also, in real life I say fuck a lot. I didn’t say it once in six minutes. It appears as if I unknowingly censored myself. Huh. Imagine that.
Okay, okay! Here it is!
(Thanks to Sila and Jenn I’ve updated the entire six minute video as opposed to the 2 second version. Thanks!)
Are you aware your video (currently) is 2 seconds long?
Thanks, friend! I tried to fix this with my phone when I received your comment via email. That didn’t work. Here it is. All six minutes.
It’s only 2 seconds long. The people want more!
It’s done! It’s done! All six minutes are now live!
Love the vlog! I am not “out” enough yet to do this, but maybe someday. I agree with your drink selection…looooove a dirty martini! I usually have mine extra dirty with extra olives. The calamari sounds like a fabulous accompaniment! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!!
Love it!!!! It’s great to see your face, and hear your voice!!! Bring from LA…I do love me some Palm Springs!!!
It is finally cooling off out here, and I am ready to enjoy the Palm Springs that most people talk of. Not the 115 degree, humid as hell, summer Palm Springs. I’m glad that’s over! Email if you come my way!
Where are these stats courses you speak of? I am probably as equally uncool as you
I love me some crossword puzzles and Boggle and game nights.
Bananagrams, Scrabble, and Sequence, Oh My!! No really, you should get Sequence. It is a simple, addictive, and super fun board game. As for those stats classes you can sign up through Coursera or EdX. There are also some live through university websites or even through iTunes. Here is a huge list: http://www.openculture.com/freeonlinecourses
Kool Kids Unite!
Oh my God, I love your video and I love mtvs challenge shows. I thought I was the only non-college aged person in the world who watches those shows still!!
Dude. Best. Show(s). Ever. I know of one other – my friend in Denver. We lived together for four years and it may or may not be the mainstay of our relationship. I just watched the trivia challenge episode from last week. Those kids should be ashamed of themselves. (But I must admit, I don’t know who is on what currency. Jemmy is right, we all use debit cards, anyway.)
You are beyond adorable. Loved the video!
Thanks, friend!
Awww I love this! Wth STATS?!? lol I love your hair and I’m so jealous of it. And Nicaragua!!! I would love to check that out one day.
Thanks, Stork! Irony of all ironies, I’ve always wanted to have long, dark hair. Le sigh. As for the stats, if you want to join the Kool Kid team, just let me know…
hahaha shut up! that’s pretty funny…we always want what he can’t have…
Hello there, how cool to see and hear you. Well done for participating, I’m not that brave just yet.
Thanks, lady!
I don’t know, you sound pretty cool to me …
Love your video – and your hairdo! And that it was your husband’s thumbs that first caught your eye. I think that hands are very important, but I’ve never considered the thumbs.
A very strong, sturdy thumb…
I love your vlog! So fun to see your face. Maybe some day I’ll be equally as brave. And “Homeland”…think I must watch it now, after your recommendation!
Do! Watch it! It isn’t available for streaming on Netflix, just the DVDs. It is a smart, nuanced, thrilling show. Good stuff!
Your hair, your voice, your general ‘tude, your online Stats courses! Gaaa!! I love you!! Please come up to LA for a visit, like, now.
Let’s do it! We can bring our respective brands of vodka and celebrate our ability to drink at that moment.
Oh how happy I am to know that someone else shares my love of the MTV Challenge shows. C.T…love him!
Great video
You know, I think for the next challenge I am going to create a Fantasy Challenge game. How awesome would that be? Stay tuned.
Yesss! You are now one of two girls who did NOT marry Steve Martin.
And yesssss! I LURVE Homeland.. was reluctant at first to try it but sweet Jesus that’s some good ish.
ISTJ! You are literally the second person I have ever heard of being an S (the other one was a vlogger) and THE only person I have ever known to be a T. I am riveted.
Thumbs?! I die. Amazing.
Upon reading your comment, I totally doubted my assessment of my Myers Briggs personality so I took an online test. It has been confirmed. ITSJ.
Yay! The full version is up! I was so bummed when I stopped by yesterday and only got the 2 second teaser.
You are striking. Love your hair. Love it. I wish I could pull that off.
Thanks, friend! This is about the only thing my hair will do, so I’m glad it works for me!!
You are so making me want to cut all my hair off again! So cute! I also watch waaaaayy too much tv, and I love Homeland.
Oh! It is such a good show. We don’t have Showtime so we are going to have to wait an agonizingly long time to see Season 2!
How lovely to see you. I love your hair do too, I have always had long hair but would love to be brave enough to go really short. I don’t think I know what a stats course is, does this make me very ignorant? Nicaragua, so cool, wow what a trip that would be.
Thanks, EmHart! I think I am in the extreme minority with my continuous love for math and statistics….which means that you are probably a member of the real cool kids club. I’m in the corner doing math problems.
I only read blogs from work this week so I wasn’t able to watch your vlog until now. I’m glad I kept it unread because holy wow! It was really fun to see and hear you as it gives me more of a sense of your personality. I like you even more now.
(For the record I already liked you a lot to begin with!)
I’m also a total nerd, though working in research at the moment so I try not to think about stats outside of the lab walls. I loved the story about your partner’s thumbs. Very sweet. Also I too am surprised at your Meyers-Briggs type as I don’t recall knowing an ISTJs. Though now that I look into it ISTJ is one of the most frequent types so I’m not sure why I haven’t heard from more of you! I’m an ENFJ and my partner is an ENTJ (which are in the bottom 4 for frequency). Do you know your partner’s type?
