This is my story unedited and uncensored. This journey has been incredibly hard and, quite possibly, one of the most difficult things I’ve ever willingly engaged in. I am married to Big Guy, my love, my favorite person on earth. We hope to someday have a baby and start a family. I currently reside in Southern California, but hope to return to Colorado, which we call home.
Sometimes this process consumes all of me, but I am more than just an infertile woman. I aspire to be radical in my daily actions and intentions including the books that I read, movies that I watch, food that I eat, products I place on my skin, and the people I surround myself with. I am a woman, a feminist, a bibliophile, a pundit, a researcher, an analyst, and a foodie. I also can be found blogging at www.radicalperiod.com.
I can be contacted at returntogobaby (at) gmail (dot) com.
I’m coming here from LFCA. So so sorry things have been so slippery for you lately. As an academic who struggled with infertility for 11 years herself, I do understand. Have you thought of perhaps trying an anti-depressant for a few months if you think it is appropriate? This is a great deal to go through all at the same time. Otherwise, maybe take a break from serious issues and try something completely different: tae kwon do, painting, doing cooking demonstrations. When I was struggling with infertility, I did alot of gardening and it helped. Now we have two great daughters adopted from China and I finally finished an academic book, so I am in a better place. (My biggest problem is fatigue.) Take care of yourself and believe in yourself and good things will happen.
Peace,
Jane
Thank you for sharing your experiences and supplement research. Thank you. I was having a tough day. Now I feel more hopeful. How long do you plan to continue the supplements? Into pregnancy… After…? I am TTC since 2010 but had to take off 6 months to deal with thyroid cancer. Frowny Face! I will take B-complex and omegas and D indefinitely but I was wondering about the others during pregnancy and after. What do you think you will do? I will ask my doctor as well but they don’t always know supplements well.
Stacy
Hi Stacy. My naturopathic doctor suggested I stop all supplements except for the fish oil, prenatal, vitamin D, and NAC. She also thought that the level of Cal/Mag in my prenatal needed supplementing, so I added that one when I was pregnant, too. Good luck!
